A few weeks ago, I volunteered to be a member of the 4-H and FFA Awards Committee for our county fair. I envisioned myself relaxing at night as I browsed the Internet or leisurely walking as I shopped store fronts, finding all sorts of wonderful livestock show awards for the youth in our county.
Yeah. So that’s not the case.
Instead I’m sixty days away from the big event and I’m in a panic.
To add to my anxiety, both of my boys are taking market beef to our county fair this year. Our county fair has a bonus/premium auction for market livestock. I almost hyperventilate when I think of preparing the buyers’ gifts. Our family appreciates the buyers for their support of our youth and I want the gifts to reflect our gratitude. I want the gifts to be ones that are unique and useful, too.
Lucky for me, my friends at Stock Signs & Designs and Lucky Lady Engraving have given me great ideas for livestock show awards that recognize the hard work of the 4-H and FFA members in our county. And they can hook me up with some fantastic buyers’ gifts as well.

Lucky Lady Engraving, LLC
Jesse Cleary is the owner of Lucky Lady Engraving, LLC. Jesse grew up in Maine where she was certain her future would involve horses. After college she moved to Tucson, Arizona, and worked customer service for an animal supply mail order company and feed store. A friend offered her a job working in a machine shop operating a laser engraving machine. Jesse quickly learned that this was her new creative passion.
“I began experimenting with photos on different materials and reading everything I could get my hands on to teach me how to get the very best results. I knew one day I wanted a laser of my own and to build a business out of my new love.”
In 2015 Jesse started Lucky Lady Engraving. She is able to use her passion for lasers and her love of horses and livestock to create unique, usable, one-of-a-kind gifts and awards. Jesse reports that the most popular award this year is the SIC-brand 27-oz water bottle. She enjoys creating usable livestock show awards that winners can carry with them and proudly show off their accomplishments.
